Privacy Policy
The short version. TrustedPump has no user accounts and shows no ads. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app. Your location is used only to find fuel stations near you — we don't build a profile of you and we never sell your data.
This policy explains what information the TrustedPump mobile app ("TrustedPump", "we", "us") handles, why, and your choices. It applies to the TrustedPump app for Android and iOS. By using the app you agree to this policy.
TrustedPump is operated by Lubeswala, based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. You can contact us about this policy at any time at ketan@lubeswala.com.
1. Information we handle
Location
With your permission, the app reads your device's approximate GPS location. We ask only for "while using the app" access, and we take a single position reading at the time you use the map — the app does not track your location in the background or follow your movements over time.
Your coordinates are sent to our backend service (see "Service providers" below), which uses them to calculate which stations fall within the search radius and sorts them nearest-first. That calculation is a read-only lookup: your coordinates are not written to our database, and because the app has no accounts, they are not linked to your identity. They may appear briefly in our provider's standard server logs, described under "Technical & log data" below.
When you tap "Navigate", the app hands the station's address to Google Maps. It does not send your own location to Google — Google Maps obtains that itself under Google's policy.
You can use TrustedPump without granting location access. If you decline, the app falls back to showing stations around the Hyderabad city centre. You can change the permission any time in your device settings.
Information we do not collect
- No account, sign-up, name, email address, or phone number to use the app.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or files.
- No advertising identifiers, and no third-party advertising.
Technical & log data
Like any app that connects to the internet, when the app requests data our service providers may automatically process standard technical information — such as your device's IP address and the time of the request — as part of delivering and securing the service. This is not used to identify you personally.
The TrustedPump app does not use any third-party analytics or crash-reporting services.
2. How we use information
- To show fuel stations near you and sort them by distance.
- To open directions to a station you choose.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use it for advertising or to build an advertising profile.
3. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our station database and runs the "nearby stations" search. Your location coordinates are sent here to compute nearby results.
- Google Play services / device OS — provides the location signal on your device.
- Google Maps — when you tap "Navigate", the app hands off the station's location to Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions. Once you're in Google Maps, Google's own Privacy Policy applies.
4. Data retention
Because the app has no accounts, we do not maintain a personal profile to retain or delete. Location coordinates are used to answer your search request and are not written to our database, so there is no location history for us to keep, hand over, or lose. Standard operational logs held by our service providers are retained only as long as needed to run and secure the service.
5. Children
TrustedPump is a utility for drivers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your choices
- Grant, deny, or revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
- Uninstall the app to stop all data processing by it.
- Contact us with any privacy question or request (below).
7. Station & map data
Station information shown in the app comes from our own field visits, oil-company dealer listings, and OpenStreetMap. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). This is data about stations, not about you.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify users in the app.
